Introduced in 1959, the 356B represents significant advances in driveability and comfort over earlier 356 models, and is a pleasingly quick way to enjoy Porsches traditional values of quality, reliability, and mechanical robustness. In August 1960 a new model joined the range: the hardtop coup built by Karmann. This particular variant would turn out to be short-lived, production ceasing in June 1962 together with that of the roadster, though Karmann continued to build the regular coup.
This rare Karmann-bodied hardtop coup was delivered new in California, USA. Imported into Italy in 1995 and offered with its original Italian registration document, the car remained there until 2008 when it was bought by last owner.
